Maps and Contour Lines

After watching several Prologue title sequences, especially the New World movie sequence, I am finding that maps and contour lines create a very attractive and appropriate canvas.

The video below shows how maps can be used on screen and I feel that this could help establish potential features in my title sequence. As the map scans it could then zoom in and locate a specific feature, eg. nature, history, before moving on to the next feature.

Ordnance Survey Maps

this video shows how maps can be used to create an interesting texture along with showing that the subject is a certain space, be it city, village or countryside.

BBC Three Idents

I think these idents are great. The give an idea of perspective of the brand in the background and it also shows the personality in which the channel wishes to be seen in.

My only AfterEffects Movie...

This is a project created in AfterEffects last term. I worked with a partner who was much more comfortable using the software but I tried to learn as much as I could from him.

New Project - New Blog

I have just started the first project of the final term of the year. Based around ITV's Countrywise show, we have to design a Brand and either a website or title sequence for a show named 'Big Country'.

After reading the breif and brainstorming ideas, I am edging towards the title sequence. I know it is early to be making this decision but my interests are leading me to watching show reels on youtube rather then navigating through websites.

However, I do plan to research everything and generate ideas for both options before making a final decision.
